Overview

In my junior year of high school, I was honored to be the only high school student selected to join a hospital-based clinical research team focusing on Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) at HonorHealth Clinical Research Institute. Under the mentorship of Dr. Priya Radhakrishnan, MD, I am contributing to an IRB-approved abstract on opioid overdose interventions and emergency department (ED)-based care models. This work aims to address the medical and social needs of underserved communities, and our poster is being submitted for presentation at the 12th Annual Arizona Public Health Equity Conference.

Personal Importance of the work

I have always cared about working with underserved communities, breaking barriers to healthcare by improving access, distributing resources, providing health equity education, and advocating for change. Being part of this hospital-based research team taught me how clinical data and research can directly shape programs that save lives. It gave me a deeper appreciation for the teamwork and dedication needed to create real change, and it strengthened my commitment to a career focused on advancing equitable care.
